Trader and Quartermaster / shop

Trax the Trader

Trax the Trader portrait

A former soldier of Wen who now treats commerce like logistics with fewer funerals.

Personality: Serious and professional

  • Cull the Road: Thin out a dozen monsters before they decide the road toll includes your spine.
  • Orders for the Church: Carry Trax's message to Father Mathias before both men decide silence was the superior policy.

Bartender and Rumor Broker / pub

Jules the Bartender

A descendant of Wen's old tavern keepers who hides worry behind wit and a dangerously generous pour.

Personality: Friendly and engaging

  • Last Call for the Living: Get one stranded civilian home through an escort event before the monsters decide the pub menu includes peasants.
  • Pick Up the Tab: Pay Jules 80 copper so she can smooth over a loud patron and keep the pub from becoming an amateur war council.

Priest and Keeper of the Chapel / heal

Father Mathias

A stern servant of the church who remembers the first Wardens as a duty, not a myth.

Personality: Serious and professional

  • Medicine for the Faithful: Bring Father Mathias one Large Health Potion so the church can keep pace with the night.
  • Word to the Quartermaster: Carry Father Mathias's answer to Trax before irritation hardens into doctrine.

Blacksmith and Bombwright / shop

An old grandmaster smith whose forge draws apprentices from across the realm, even if he claims they are all mostly in his way.

Personality: Gruff, friendly, proud, and quietly devoted to the Wardens

Kalibros

Kalibros portrait

Kalibros is the current Lord of Wen. He awakens the Wardens because Verdaxis, Dreadmoor, and the collapsing city threaten everything he has hoarded. His tutorial callouts teach key systems, but his motives remain political rather than heroic.

Personality: Self-interested, calculating, and dangerous enough to be useful when Wen is at risk.
